"You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star." - Nietzsche
Agent Suzy Davies might not be all too chaotic, but she's certainly a Seeff star (and a great dancer but we'll get to that).
However, she's claiming the above as her current life motto and we have seen how far it's gotten her. A dash of dissatisfaction with the status quo is always a good push to change it after all.
Speaking of changes, Suzy recently joined the Seeff Atlantic Seaboard & City Bowl team after relocating from Grahamstown (or G-Spot as she affectionately calls it) to Cape Town.
She brings with her a welter of experience and a marketing acumen courtesy of her past life as Marketing Manager for Cape Grace Hotel and Constantia Uitsig.
As for her journey with Seeff, it dates back to the 90s as that is when her brother worked for the brand. Suzy joined Seeff when they approached her to help open a branch in Grahamstown. That was five years ago and she hasn't looked back since.
Small town living has its perks, and Suzy counts the dichotomy of the natural beauty of the Eastern Cape nestled in a basin of stone churches of spires and classic Victorian homes as some of her favourite things about G-town.
Perhaps that's why she's so passionate about her specialist area in Cape Town - the prestigious Oranjezicht and surrounding suburbs.
"I have always loved the characterful Victorian houses of the area, harkening back to a different era with all the old world charm," she enthused.
Cape Town's scope for opportunites and a slightly racier pace hasn't gone to waste on Suzy who lists Que Pasa Latin Lounge in Mouille Point as one of her new favourite haunts (told you she was a good dancer), along with Mouille Point and Kalk Bay if you're looking for a morning out.
When she's not heating up the dance floor, she's focused on delivering the professional, honest service she's known for.
"My clients trust me to give them a realistic appraisal of what they should sell for and know the professional service I deliver. My buyers know I won't sell them a dud, they trust my recommendation and know I'm here for the long-term with the relationships to show for it."
She feels positive about the market, and is encouraging of those looking to buy this year.
"Sellers are more realistic which means there are some great deals available - it's a good time to get your foot on the first rung of the ladder if you're interested in buying for the first time this year."
And sales, Suzy knows all about that too. In fact, she's just made one - a cool R4 million home in the swanky Orangerie block in Gardens. Not too shabby a start.
Having worked in two very different Seeff locations, Suzy is certain that some things remain consistent.
"No matter where we're based, Seeff is a family. We pride ourselves on professional honest service. We're a local brand that's stood the test of time and we love having fun!"
We love having Suzy as a part of our team and have already enjoyed all of the energy and fun she brings to the office.
