The energy part is self-evident as Debbie is passionate about exercise. But her interests don't end there. She's also an attentive mom of two, loves animals and has been married for over 24 years.
Her spirit of adventure means she's (usually) an avid traveller, which makes her an ideal agent for her international clients. She understand the time pressures they're under when visiting Cape Town and does her best to tailor a suitable selection of properties that would matter most to them seen when they're in the area.
Having started her career in the financial sector, Debbie migrated to property - beginning her journey in real-estate with Seeff in 2003. "After being in the life and investment industry for many years, I decided it was a natural move to go into the property market. I used to follow it weekly so it was a natural move for me." In fact, it was the purchase of her own very first property that sparked her interest - a common thread in many of our agents.
As the area specialist for some of the most sought-after areas in the Cape, Debbie's well-versed on what makes them so attractive. "Green Point, Sea Point, and Three Anchor Bay are close to the CBD, and the Waterfront, while still retaining their sea-side charm. Clients are sometimes unaware that Green Point's north-facing properties have views that mean one can experience the sunrise and sunset which is very special. I also love the historic, character homes in Sea Point as well. There are some incredible, tastefully renovated gems there."
Throughout her years of being in the industry, Debbie has formulated a wealth of property knowledge, and with that, she has won numerous awards - including becoming a life-time achiever with Seeff Properties.
Her advice for budding agents eager for the same success? "You've got to be self-motivated, honest, have integrity and provide consistently good service."
Speaking of service, when asked why a buyer or seller should work with Seeff, Debbie is quick to answer. "We have great marketing capabilities, a large database to tap into, years of experience that will save you time and money, and the best service out there!"
If this year has you thinking of dipping your toes in the housing market, Debbie's got some golden advice to share. "I feel that if one has got funds to buy, this is a very good time to get into the market."
After all, Debbie's ultimate goal is finding suitable homes for families to be happy in, while at the same time giving the best service to both sellers and buyers alike.
To date, she's sold over 300 properties - a remarkable achievement for any agent! While many might kick back and take it a little easier after such a milestone victory, we have a feeling she's just warming up.
